Art Kalyna opened in 2002 as a physical gallery dedicated to original oil paintings. More than twenty years on, our purpose remains the same: to present meaningful work, championed with care.
OUR STORY
From a single room to a programme of voices.
The gallery was founded in 2002 as a physical space, born from a single conviction: that original art, well chosen and well presented, can change the texture of a life. From the first exhibition a small show of Eastern European painting Art Kalyna has remained committed to original work, individual artists and direct relationships with collectors.
FOUNDER
Anatoliy Vyshnevetskiy is the curator and founder of Art Kalyna. His practice as an art dealer began long before the gallery itself built on years of conversations with painters, collectors and museum colleagues. His approach is patient, attentive and deeply personal: he represents only artists whose work he believes in, and he sells only to collectors he can advise honestly.
PHILOSOPHY OF CURATION
We curate slowly. Every work that enters the programme has been selected for craft, for cultural depth and for the quiet ambition that distinguishes a serious painting from a decorative one. We present works as we believe they deserve to be presented with space, with context and with the artist's voice intact.
CULTURE FOCUS
Art Kalyna's programme is anchored in contemporary Ukrainian and broader Eastern European painting a tradition with extraordinary depth in figuration, landscape and the floral still life. We continue to expand the programme to include sculpture, photography and works on paper that share the same standard of craft.

Our programme expands to include works on paper, sculpture and curated photography.
Today
We represent thirteen artists across painting, sculpture and works on paper, and ship internationally.

A working gallery, not a marketplace.
We are a working gallery. We meet the artists we represent. We pack our own crates. We answer our own emails. The collector who buys from us buys with the assurance that a real institution stands behind the work — and that the gallery is here, year after year, to support what they have acquired.
